St Matthew’s Anglican School

Message from the CEO of AngliSchools

Reverend Peter Laurence OAM

Reverend Peter Laurence OAM
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER,
AngliSchools

It’s with great pride that AngliSchools has announced the opening of St Matthew’s Anglican School in Yanchep. Offering all classes from Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2027, it will grow year-by-year to encompass all levels from Kindergarten to Year 12 by 2033.

AngliSchools was founded in 1985 to establish high quality, affordable Anglican schools in growing suburbs and regional centres. Since 1985, we’ve established three schools in Perth’s northern beaches – St Mark’s Anglican Community School at Hillarys, Peter Moyes Anglican Community School in Mindarie and St James’ Anglican School at Alkimos. Today, AngliSchools owns and operates 16 schools across Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

Yanchep is located in a major growth corridor, with the new train line operational and the Mitchell Freeway to be extended in the coming years. Residential development is occurring at a rapid pace. As roads, houses and shops go in to service this ever-growing community, AngliSchools is pleased to play our part in supporting Yanchep and the surrounding region with a school that will offer excellence in all it does – from teaching and learning, to pastoral care and co-curricular programs.

All that we do at St Matthew’s will be grounded in the Anglican beliefs and values of faith, excellent, justice, respect, integrity and inclusion. AngliSchools are communities of learning where students and families of all faiths and none are welcome and valued.

Just as Yanchep will grow over the coming years into a bustling community, so too will St Matthew’s Anglican School see significant funds invested to build a truly first-rate campus, with outstanding facilities in which our students will learn and play. From the opening year, an extensive suite of curriculum offerings will be developed; they’ll expand as the school grows.

The personalised care and commitment to excellence is a feature of all AngliSchools. Joining a school community in its founding years is a rich and wonderful opportunity few students get to experience. Friendships are made that will last for a lifetime.

Thank you for considering St Matthew’s Anglican School for your child. Our teachers and support staff commit to making their educational journey the best it can possibly be. I look forward to welcoming you to our newest AngliSchool.

Adrian Pree,
EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in St Matthew’s Anglican School. As a new school community, we are excited to share with you the vision that will guide us as we grow and flourish together.

I have been fortunate to have been appointed as the Executive Principal and will oversee the initial development of the newest AngliSchools project. With my combined role as Principal at St James’ Anglican School, I will be able to leverage off our sister school for staff and resources to ensure a strong start to St Matthew’s opening in January 2027.

St Matthew’s Anglican School will be a dynamic Christian learning community that embraces students from all backgrounds. Our vision is to provide a broad, high-quality education that prepares every student for life beyond school—wherever their pathway may lead. We are committed to ensuring that all post-school destinations are valued equally and that every student leaves with the skills, confidence, and character to thrive.

At the heart of our school is a belief in nurturing the whole person. Each student will be encouraged to explore and develop their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and creative potential. We will employ dedicated staff and create outstanding facilities to support this journey, ensuring that every learner feels safe, supported, and inspired.

Our school will foster a culture where students understand they are part of a caring Christian environment—one that promotes self-esteem, unconditional acceptance of others, and personal responsibility. We believe that these values are foundational to creating a respectful and inclusive community

Students graduating from St Matthew’s Anglican School will be prepared for the next stage of their lives as independent, life-long learners. They will carry with them a strong set of values, a positive mindset, and the ability to think critically and compassionately in a changing world.

Our curriculum will be relevant, meaningful, and challenging; designed to empower students to achieve personal and academic excellence across all learning areas. We will encourage students to take ownership of their learning and their behaviour, helping them develop healthy lifestyles, resilience, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Excellence, perseverance, and the courage to grow through failure will be celebrated and embedded into the fabric of our school culture. At St Matthew’s Anglican School, we are committed to building a community where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to become their best self.

We look forward to welcoming you into this exciting new chapter and partnering with you in your child’s educational journey.
